PEPSI WORLD CUP
As a small fledgling brand with itty reach and bitty budgets, Pepsi was looking to drive awareness by blanketing an up and coming event called the World Cup. To do that, we leaned into culture, rather than the pitch, with an anthem featuring a cover of David Bowie’s “Heroes,” six of the world’s greatest soccer players, Janelle Monet, and the city of Rio. On YouTube, the film became interactive, allowing viewers to explore extra content and even more of Brazil.
PHASE 2: THE ART OF FOOTBALL
The second phase of this meaty beast was the Art of Football. Part photographic series, part art project, part documentary that brought legendary photographer Danny Clinch, six of the world’s best footballers, and six artists together to create enormous portraits to be auctioned off and run as various campaign elements.
